The CDM is the third children's clinic that Amy has helped to establish. In 2000, she worked with Dr. Korb on the creation and development of the Center for Learning and Achievement at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. From 1995-1997, she served as the co-clinic director for the Tennessee/Kentucky chapter of Operation Smile, which provides facial reconstructive surgery for children, establishing the first domestic care program for the organization. During the mid-nineties, Amy was also a frequent volunteer for the child life program in the pediatric emergency department at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Prior to this, Amy was a press relations manager for Sun Microsystems, Inc. She has also worked as a freelance writer and marketing consultant. Amy holds an B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Los Angeles, with a Business and Administration Specialization.
